How to Password-Protect Your Media Files

VIDIZMO allows all users to access media content, including anonymous or external viewers, if they have the URL to that specific content. You can set a password for each video so that only selected users can access media after entering the correct password.

Note: Public/Anonymous Access is not applicable for Digital Evidence Management Product.

Prerequisites​

  • Users must belong to a group with Moderator, Manager, or Administrator permissions.

Set a Password for Media​

  1. In VIDIZMO, select the Navigation menu.
  2. Go to Admin > Media Manager.
  3. Locate and select the video you want to password-protect.
  4. Select Settings to open the Media Settings page.
  5. In the Access tab, select Anonymous Viewers to allow public access to your video.
  6. In the Password (Optional) field, enter a password that viewers will use to access this video.
  7. Select Save and Close.

You can also use Limited Sharing from the Sharing tab to set additional video access options. To learn more, see How to Setup Media Availability.

Result​

When viewers access the password-protected video:

  1. The video player displays a lock screen to prevent unauthorized access.
  2. Viewers enter the password you set.
  3. After entering the correct password, the video plays.
